There are many hotels in Makkah, making it difficult to choose the best one. Here are some pointers to consider before making your decision:
Consider the location of the hotel in relation to the Masjid Al-Haram and other important sites in Makkah. If convenience is important for you, you may want to look for hotels that are close to the mosque. Beware though – the closer the hotel is to Masjid Al-Haram, the more expensive it will be.
Before booking a hotel, we suggest that you spend some time reading reviews from previous guests to get an idea of the hotel’s quality and services. It’s best to look up for recent reviews to get an up-to-date perspective of the hotel.
Keep in mind that hotel prices can fluctuate depending on the time of the year, so be sure to check the prices and amenities of different hotels to find the best value for your budget at the time of your intended visit. During the Ramadan peak season, do expect the room rates to multiply 3-4 times of the normal rates.
To ensure you get the best rates and your preferred hotel, it’s a good idea to book in advance, especially during the peak season.
You may consider taking up the room and breakfast package at the hotel for convenience. However, there are many food outlets near the hotels that you can also go for your breakfast at much cheaper costs. But expect crowds and long queues at these outlets especially after Fajr prayers.
